IGOS Nusantara 2010 Update Kedua

IGOS Nusantara (IGN) 2010 versi final memakai kode R5.0. Seiring
dengan peningkatan kemampuan, telah diluncurkan pembaruan pertama
yang memakai kode R5.1. Saat ini telah tersedia pembaruan kedua yang
memakai kode R5.2.

Pembaruan yang ada di IGN2010 R5.2 adalah:
1. Kernel 2.6.35.6
2. Penambahan firmware dan driver wireless
(Realtek, Broadcom, Atheros dan Intel Wireless)
3. Firefox ke 3.6.10
4. Update beragam paket ke versi baru
5. Ada skrip ign-repo-lokal, ign-repo-internet, ign-sudo-igos. [s]
6. Penyesuaian menu boot di LiveCD dan DVD installer

IGN2010 DVD Installer R5.2
ISO image DVD Installer sebesar 3.9 GB, di dalamnya ada 4139 file rpm.

Saat melakukan booting memakai IGN2010 DVD Installer akan muncul
beberapa pilihan. Pilihan pertama akan menginstal paket atau aplikasi
yang sama dengan paket di IGN2010 LiveCD.

FITUR
Beragam konfigurasi GNOME telah disesuaikan agar tampilan lebih baik
dan memudahkan pengguna. Fitur lengkap sebagai berikut:
1. Terjemahan ke Bahasa Indonesia semakin baik dan bertambah jumlahnya.
2. Ribuan aplikasi telah dikompilasi ulang. Tersedia di reposotori [1]
3. Emulasi beragam program/aplikasi yang biasa jalan di Windows dapat
dipasang ke IGN2010 dengan memakai Wine 1.2.0. Aplikasi untuk Windows
yang sudah sukses dijalankan di IGN2010 antara lain: Firefox 4.0 Beta1,
Flashget 1.9, Editplus, Internet Download Manager 5.19, The Bat,
Microsoft Office Viewer 2003,Fastone Image Viewer dan Yahoo Messenger
4. Tersedia sepuluh tema (theme) dengan beragam pilihan wallpaper, icon,
dan beragam warna panel [2]
5. Tampilan GNOME Terminal transparan
6. Efek Desktop: Ada tiga jenis yaitu Standard, Compiz, Shell
7. Resapplet untuk ubag resolusi layar secara cepat
8. Beberapa paket tambahan [3] sukses dipasang di IGN2010 LiveCD
antara lain: Opera Browser, Google Chrome, Chromium, Google Earth
dan MultiGet.
9. Tersedia shortcut: Silakan tes dengan menekan tombol Windows (super key)
di keyboard plus tombol lain:
a. super key + e untuk menjalankan Peramban Berkas (nautilus)
b. super key + d untuk memunculkan desktop
c. super key + f untuk melakukan pencarian
d. super key + x untuk menjalankan GNOME Terminal

Silakan unduh ISO image IGN2010 LiveCD [4], bakar (burning) lalu ujicoba
dan atau instal di PC, Notebook atau Netbook. Selain dibakar dapat pula
ISO image dimasukkan ke dalam USB Flash Disk, sehingga menjadi
IGN2010 LiveUSB. Cara membuat LiveUSB ada di IGNwiki [5].

After Instalation Done (on UBUNTU 10.10)

what you do after instalation done if you familiar with windows OS , maybe you needs softwares or format files usually you use on windows :

1. Samba File Sharing

Samba is a networking protocol that allows compatibility with Windows-based networks. The Samba client is installed by default in Ubuntu Jaunty and should work seamlessly (unless you have have a firewall blocking the ports).

sudo apt-get install samba samba-tools system-config-samba smbfs

2. Proprietary Extras
 
Proprietary software helps you maximize your Internet experience, but is not open source. The software available includes Multimedia Codecs, Java Runtime Environment, and plug-ins for Firefox.

The Ubuntu Restricted Extras will install Adobe Flash Player, Java Runtime Environment (JRE) (sun-java-jre) with Firefox plug-ins (icedtea), a set of Microsoft Fonts (msttcorefonts), multimedia codecs (w32codecs or w64codecs), mp3-compatible encoding (lame), FFMpeg, extra Gstreamer codecs, the package for DVD decoding (libdvdread4, but see below for info on libdvdcss2), the unrar archiver, odbc, and cabextract. It also installs multiple "stripped" codecs and avutils (libavcodec-unstripped-52 and libavutil-unstripped-49). This is a single command approach.

3. Audacious

Audacious is an advanced audio player.

It is free, lightweight, based on GTK2, runs on Linux and many other *nix platforms and is focused on audio quality and supporting a wide range of audio codecs.

Its advanced audio playback engine is considerably more powerful than GStreamer. Audacious is a fork of Beep Media Player (BMP), which itself forked from XMMS.

4. Dia (Diagram editor) 
 

Dia is a gtk based diagram creation program released under the GPL license.

Dia is inspired by the commercial Windows program 'Visio', though more geared towards informal diagrams for casual use. It can be used to draw many different kinds of diagrams. It currently has special objects to help draw entity relationship diagrams, UML diagrams, flowcharts, network diagrams, and many other diagrams. It is also possible to add support for new shapes by writing simple XML files, using a subset of SVG to draw the shape.

It can load and save diagrams to a custom XML format (gzipped by default, to save space), can export diagrams to a number of formats, including EPS, SVG, XFIG, WMF and PNG, and can print diagrams (including ones that span multiple pages).

5. Inkscape Vector Illustrator 
 

An Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Xara X, using the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format. 

Inkscape supports many advanced SVG features (markers, clones, alpha blending, etc.) and great care is taken in designing a streamlined interface. It is very easy to edit nodes, perform complex path operations, trace bitmaps and much more. We also aim to maintain a thriving user and developer community by using open, community-oriented development.

6. Google Earth

Google Earth lets you fly anywhere to view satellite imagery, maps, terrain, 3D buildings, galaxies in outer space, and the depths of the ocean.
